Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses Sellit at sellituae.com. By browsing the site, creating an account, posting an ad, sending a message or placing a bid, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Sellit.
Sellit is operated by Sellit Portal (Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates), trade licence no. 1662860 issued by the Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai.
1. About Sellit
Sellit is an online classifieds marketplace for the United Arab Emirates. People and businesses post ads, and interested buyers contact them.
Sellit only provides the platform. We are not the seller or the buyer, we do not own, inspect or store the items that are advertised, and we are not an agent, broker or auctioneer for any user. Any agreement is made directly between the buyer and the seller.
Sellit does not handle payments, delivery, returns or refunds.
2. Who can use Sellit
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. If you register for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to represent it.
You must use Sellit in line with the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
3. Your account
You can register with an email address and password or with your Google account. The details you give must be correct and kept up to date.
When you register you choose a private account or a business account. Traders and companies may not present themselves as private sellers.
A business can ask for the Verified badge by sending us a copy of its trade licence. The badge means that we saw a valid licence in that name at the time of the check. It is not a guarantee of the business, its items or its conduct, and we can withdraw it at any time.
A verified business can import ads from the stock page of its own website. By doing so it confirms that the stock is its own and that it may use the texts and photos, which Sellit then copies to the ads. Importing from other marketplaces or from someone else's website is not allowed. Imported ads are the business's own ads: it stays responsible for keeping them correct and for removing items that are sold, and they follow the same rules and checks as any other ad.
Only verified businesses may put links to websites in their ads. A link in any other ad is not shown to buyers. Adding links may become a paid option.
Users who have exchanged messages on Sellit can review each other with one to five stars and a short text. A review must be honest and about your own experience with that person. Reviews are public and show the first name of your account. You can change or remove your own review, and we can remove reviews that are false, abusive or otherwise break these terms.
Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account, and you should tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
You may not open several accounts to get around limits or a suspension.
4. Posting ads
When you post an ad, you confirm that:
- You own the item or have the right to offer it, and it is really available.
- The title, description, price, condition and photos are correct and not misleading, and the photos show the actual item.
- You post one ad per item, in the right category, without duplicates.
- The ad is written in English or Arabic.
- You hold the rights to the photos and text you upload.
- You hold any licence, permit or registration that UAE law requires for what you advertise, for example selling as a business, renting out cars, offering services, recruiting staff or selling animals.
- You will update or remove the ad when the item is sold or no longer available.
An ad stays online until you pause it, mark it as sold or delete it, which you can do at any time. We may later limit how long an ad stays online; if we do, we will tell you by email first.
When you upload photos, Sellit can suggest a title, category and details automatically. These suggestions can be wrong. You are responsible for checking and correcting your ad before you publish it.
5. Items and content that are not allowed
You may not advertise:
- Anything that is illegal to sell, own or advertise in the UAE.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and fireworks.
- Drugs, prescription medicines and medical products that need approval.
- Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaping products.
- Counterfeit, pirated or stolen goods.
- Sexual content or services, and gambling.
- Endangered species and animals that may not be sold or kept.
- Official documents, identity cards, SIM cards registered to someone else, user accounts and lists of personal data.
- Investment offers, loans, cryptocurrency schemes and pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes.
- Job ads that ask applicants for money, and the sale of visas.
- Content that is offensive or discriminatory, that insults religion or that goes against public morals.
- Spam, harmful links and ads that mainly exist to send visitors to another website.
This list is not complete. We decide whether an ad is suitable for Sellit.
6. Messages, phone numbers and bids
To contact a seller you sign in and send a message through Sellit. The conversation is kept in the Messages section of both accounts, and each side gets an email notice when a new message is waiting. The other person sees your name, not your email address.
A phone number is optional. If you add one to your ad, signed-in visitors of that ad can see it, and you can also let them contact you on WhatsApp at that number. Phone calls and WhatsApp chats take place outside Sellit.
A seller can switch bidding on or off for each ad. A bid is shown on the ad with the bidder's name and the amount, and it is added to the conversation between the bidder and the seller.
Sellit is not an auction. A bid is an invitation to deal and not a binding contract on its own. The seller is free to accept, refuse or ignore any bid and does not have to sell to the highest bidder. A sale only exists when the buyer and the seller agree it between themselves. Only place a bid if you seriously intend to buy.
You may not use messages or bids for spam, advertising, harassment or collecting contact details. Daily limits apply to the number of messages and bids.
You may use the other person's details only to communicate about the ad in question.
We may read a conversation when this is needed to deal with a report, to prevent fraud or misuse, or when the law requires it.
7. Deals between users and safety
You are responsible for your own deals. Sellit does not check the identity of users, the accuracy of ads, the quality, legality or ownership of items, or a buyer's ability to pay.
We advise you to:
- Meet the other person in a public place.
- Inspect the item before you pay.
- Never pay in advance or send a deposit to someone you have not met.
- Be careful with payment links, requests for verification codes and offers from unknown courier companies.
- When you buy a car, check the registration, the ownership, any outstanding finance and the accident history, have the car inspected and complete the transfer through the official channels.
Disputes are a matter between the users involved. We may try to help, but we are not obliged to.
8. Reports and moderation
Any user can report an ad, and we review the reports we receive.
Ads are also checked automatically, by software that reads the text and the photos, when they are posted or changed. An ad that appears to break these rules can be taken offline straight away, and repeated refusals can lead to the account being blocked. If you think a decision is wrong, email us and a person will look at it.
We may change the category of an ad, pause or remove it, and limit or close accounts, without notice, when we believe these terms or the law are being broken or when this is needed to protect users.
We may cooperate with the competent authorities in the UAE when the law requires it.
9. Fees
Browsing, posting ads, messaging and bidding are currently free.
We may introduce paid options later, such as certain categories or promotion of ads. The price will always be shown clearly before you pay, and nothing is charged without your explicit choice.
10. Your content and ours
You remain the owner of what you post. By posting an ad you give Sellit a free, non-exclusive licence to host, show, translate, resize, mark with a small Sellit logo and promote it on Sellit and in Sellit's own communication and marketing, such as search engines and social media, for as long as the ad is online and for a reasonable time afterwards.
The Sellit name, logo, design and software belong to Sellit. You may not copy ads in bulk, collect data automatically, access the site with automated tools or disrupt how it works.
11. Availability and liability
Sellit is provided as it is and as available. This is an early version: features can change, be interrupted for a while or contain errors.
As far as UAE law allows, Sellit is not liable for:
- The content of ads and the behaviour of users.
- The quality, safety or legality of the items advertised.
- Losses that result from deals between users.
- Losses that result from interruptions of the service or loss of data.
- Indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or gross negligence.
You agree to compensate Sellit for claims that arise from your ads or from your breach of these terms or of the law.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Sellit at any time. You can delete your ads under My ads. To have your account deleted, send us an email at the address below.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and we announce important changes on Sellit or by email. If you keep using Sellit after an update, you accept the new terms.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of the Emirate of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the law requires otherwise.
Please contact us first, so we can try to solve a problem together.
These terms are published in English and Arabic. If the two versions differ, the English version applies, unless UAE law requires otherwise.
